Generations Without Qat organizes a training course on "Humanitarian Response and Reconstruction"

 Generations Without Qat Organization for Awareness and Development organized a training course for the local authority in Al-Shamayatain District, Taiz Governorate, on "Effective Humanitarian Response and Gender-Based Reconstruction".

The course lasted for 4 days, within the framework of the "Improving the Meaningful Impact of Women in Relief, Recovery, and Peace Operations in Yemen" project, which is being implemented by #GWQ in Taiz Governorate - the districts of Salah and Al-Shamayatain during the period January-December 2023 (the second phase).


In a statement to the project coordinator Hamid Khaled, he confirmed that "during the training period, which was attended by 15 participants from the executive offices of the local authority in the district and some civil society organizations, women's groups and community committees, the participants received skills and knowledge related to the humanitarian response in terms of concept, importance, principles, and standards, as well as Reconstruction in terms of concept, importance, principles, and parties, in addition to models on reconstruction and practical applications on humanitarian response and reconstruction.

He said, "As part of the training, a discussion session and working groups were held on Resolution 1325 and its relationship to the humanitarian response and reconstruction, in addition to raising awareness of the role of the national plan for implementing Resolution 1325 and the role of local authorities in activating the plan, taking into account gender needs."

The participants also stressed the importance of having a model plan for the directorate about the applications of humanitarian response and gender-sensitive reconstruction, especially in light of the cooperation shown by the local authority in the directorate and the interest in women's participation in humanitarian response and decision-making
