Funded by the #European_Union_mission_in_Yemen, in coordination with the Ministry of Local Administration, the United Nations Development Programme (#UNDP), in collaboration with the organization "#Generations_Without_Qat," organized an awareness workshop on "Supporting Local Authorities to Respond to Community Needs through Local Resilience and Recovery Funding in Taiz." The workshop took place on Wednesday, 6th March 2024, in the governorate of Taiz.
The workshop, which is part of the project "Strengthening the Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen - #SIERY," aimed to familiarize local authorities with the importance of supporting community needs and focusing on enhancing institutional and economic resilience in Taiz. It included interactive sessions and presentations to introduce attendees to available funding through local resilience and recovery, as well as reviewing successful examples of implementing this strategy in other areas.
The opening was attended by the Deputy Governor, representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) via online presence, representatives from the Planning and International Cooperation Office, representatives from the Social Affairs and Labor Office, representatives from the Public Works and Roads Office, and directors of the districts of Al-Qahira, Al-Muzaffar, and Salah.
