The #Local_Authority is implementing the "Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Some Asphalt Streets in Sala District, Taiz Governorate" project.
The project covers main streets extending from the Fourth Point intersection to the Al-Ardi Street roundabout, passing by the Kadam oven, and from the Asaj intersection to the Al-Shaab intersection, passing by the Al-Hawd intersection, over an area of 16,871 square meters.
Maintenance works include removing asphalt, curbs, and dilapidated sidewalks and replacing them with new ones according to engineering standards.
The local authority relied on modern and advanced equipment in scraping and re-asphalting operations to ensure quality implementation and accelerate the pace of work, which saves time and effort and ensures the sustainability of roads after their rehabilitation.
The project aims to improve the efficiency of the road network and facilitate traffic movement in these vital streets, which are the main entrance to the city from the eastern side. It also enhances urban development and supports infrastructure, which contributes to meeting the needs of citizens and strengthening the capabilities of local authorities.
This project is among the development priorities of the local authority for the year 2023. It is supported by the “Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen” (#SIERY) project, implemented by the United Nations Development Program (#UNDP) through the Generations Without Qat Organization (#GWQ) and funded by the #European_Union in Yemen.
