Generations Without Qat Holds a Debate on The Participation of Women and Youth in Decision Making Contribute to Building Community Peace.

Generations Without Qat Organization for Awareness and Development organized, Monday, September 27, 2021, in the city of Taiz, at the
Taj Shamsan Hotel Hall, a debate entitled “The active participation of women and youth in decision-making contributes to building community peace.”.

During the debate, the two debate teams (pro-opposition) presented their case and defended their arguments. The project coordinator gave a presentation about the Generations Without Qat Organization, reviewing the stages of its establishment, its areas of intervention in the various sectors, and its locations.

The project coordinator pointed out that "this debate aims to strengthen the youth's abilities to develop and organize thinking skills, develop analysis and research skills, and enhance their persuasion capabilities."

For its part, the debate jury pointed out that "such a debate also aims to raise awareness among the general public on some important issues and enhance persuasion skills on the values of peace and the importance of women and youth participation in decision-making and building community peace."

She praised the scientific definitions provided by the debaters on some things on scientific grounds, as well as educating the community and persuading it with arguments and proofs; The most important thing in this event is its essence and content. She said it is moving in this direction, with the youth having an active role.

The result of the debate was announced after the tribal and remote voting and the jury, in favor of the opposition team with a narrow difference from the loyal team.

This comes within the activities of the project “Strengthening community participation, building the capacities of civil society organizations, youth and women’s initiatives, and activating their roles in society,” which is implemented by the Generations Without Qat Organization for Awareness and Development in the two districts of Al-Qaherah and Mudhaffar, Taiz Governorate, during December 2020-February 2022.
