Generations Without Qat Inaugurates Three Training Courses for 15 Youth and Women Initiatives in Taiz on Community Peace Building, Gender, Leadership, and Communication.

Taiz:
 Monday, October 18, 2020, in the city of Taiz, Generations Without Qat Organization for Awareness and Development inaugurated three training courses to build the capacities of 15 youth and women initiatives in community peacebuilding, gender, leadership, and communication.
The training courses last for four days, as part of the project “Strengthening community participation and building the capacities of civil society organizations, women’s groups, women’s and youth initiatives, and activating their roles in society” (the second year of the project), which is implemented by Generations Without Qat in the districts of Al-Qaherah and Mudhaffar in Taiz.
The project coordinator, Hamid Khaled, said in a press statement that, "The initiatives participating in the three training courses will gain the participants a lot of benefits and skills, as they will receive in the training course on youth and women's initiatives on gender knowledge and skills about the concept of gender, its categories, and gender roles, In addition to gender-based violence and its effects, gender analysis in terms of concept and importance, gender analysis tools as well as inclusion, the role of women and youth participation in decision-making and how to enhance the role of women in participating in decision-making and building community peace.
In the four-day training course on "Leadership and Communication", participants representing 15 youth and women's initiatives in the districts of Al-Qaherah and Mudhaffar in Taiz governorate will receive information and skills about the concept of leadership, its types, the problems of current leadership weakness and leadership styles, in addition to the life cycle of initiatives, coalition building, and peacebuilding paths. In addition to the art of facilitating, managing meetings, effective communication, and preparing reports.
In the “Community Peace Building” training course, participants will acquire skills and knowledge about violence and its relationship to conflict, peace, and coexistence, in addition to the concept of conflict, its types, and stages of escalation, as well as tools for analyzing conflict and relations between conflict and peace, and tools for intervention in the conflict, as confirmed by the project coordinator, Hamid Khaled.
