Thank Allah and generation without gat for helping us
Lubna is one of the displaced families at the Shathli IDPs hosting site in al-Makha district, manages by Generations
Without Qat, which consists of 147 displaced families, most of them from Maqbana district. she was displaced in
June 2020 with her family (5 male, 5 female) from Al-Barah area in Maqbana subdistrict, Taiz governorate, as a
result of the war, her family faced very difficult circumstances telling Lubna sadly before being targeted in the
project with shelter and NFI basic and bidding kits, "We fled from war to Makha district with nothing, lived between
the wind and rain, no tents, no plastic sheets, no mattresses, we have lived under the plastic bags, we were
sleeping scared between sand and gravel, or on boxes, our place was open for everything coming like mice,
scorpions, and insects. We were lived tormented from every side."

Regarding the intervention in the field of the emergency and maintenance shelter in Al Shathli site and other sites
at the end of 2019 by Generation Without Qat, as part of the camp management and coordination project at the time
and within the concerns of GWQ with displaced people and for meeting the urgent needs of displaced families in
hosting sites in the district of Al-Makha. Lubna says, "We need tents to protect us from rain, wind, sun heat, and
mattresses."

Lubna targeted by the project of " SMC and Shelter Upgrade for IDPs in Hosting Sites in Al Mukha District -priority 1
Governorate of Taiz." which was implemented by Generations Without Qat under two sectors of by (shelter and NFIs
sector and CCCM sector) that aimed at improving the living conditions of (680) HHs of the most vulnerable IDPs,
returnees, and host communities in Al-Mukha district: 330 HHs of IDPs living in 5 critical hosting sites (AlHali,
AlRowais, Al Qatabia, Alniaba, AlShatheli) and 350 HHs of vulnerable IDPs, returnees, and host community living in
Al-Mughaini, Al-Orouk, Al-Qahirah, Yakhtal, and Al-Hali, and Al-Madinah areas. In this, the project is a reflection of
the 2020 HRP strategic objectives, which aimed at promoting the dignity of IDPs living in emergency and IDP
settlements by upgrading sub-standard sites and providing services and shelter.

After being targeted and compared to her previous situation, Lubna says: "We were upset about living between wind,
sun heat, and cold. If there is any insect directly enters to our place, we have nothing, and no one helped us and now
thank Allah and GWQ for helping us, we have got a tent and mattresses ( Emergency shelter and basic/bidding NFIs
kits) and we feel comfortable from Generations without Qat which always helps"
