Today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the Organization of Generations Without Qat in the Al-Shamaytayn District, Taiz Governorate, concluded a training course for authority holders on community participation, which lasted for four days.
The training course came within the project Promoting Women’s Participation in Relief, Recovery and Peace Operations in Yemen implemented by Generations Without Qat Organization in the districts of Salh and Al-Shamaytayn in Taiz Governorate. During the period January-December 2022, which targets civil society organizations, the local authority and women entrepreneurs in the two districts.
The project coordinator confirmed, in a press statement, that "during the training period, which was attended by 20 participants from the local authority, some civil society organizations and community personalities with a societal role in the district, the focus was on success stories and lessons learned for community participation at the district level and the most important concepts and skills related to community participation and its benefits within the framework of empowerment, sustainable development, access to and control over resources, discrimination, gender, the role of women in development, along with local authority and civil society organizations, and attention to the role of women in various stages of humanitarian and development projects.
