On Tuesday, November 9, we met the Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs Camps in Aden Governorate, Dr. Salem Nasser Saree, and we talked about the project " Emergency WASH Assistance for IDPs Hosting Sites in Aden Governorate which is funded by the Development and Peace Organization - Canada and implemented by Generations without Qat .The project was implemented through several activities that significantly contribute to alleviating the suffering of IDPs from the diseases prevalent in the camps in both of the targeted districts, Al Buriqa and Mansoura, including building Latrines and supplying them with solar energy panels, in addition to covering and building a sanitation system.

Dr.Salem has greatly praised the organization’s intervention in the governorate of Aden and described it as a positive intervention; in which its activities have covered five sites for IDPs that lacked support and interventions in the WASH sector. Also, he asked the organization to increase such interventions in addition to increasing its interventions in other fields and sectors such as Women and Child Protection Sectors, the Education Sector, and Food Security Sector to cover the needs of the displaced women.

He added: "When we received the sites, and according to the reactions we felt and the phone calls that came to us from the field from IDPs representatives and displaced people, the project's activities have a positive impact and a good impression due to its wonderful change in IDPs' lives in the targeted sites."

 Dr. Salem Nasser Saree’ also thanked the project donner, GWQ organization, and its team, saying: “I extend my thanks on my behalf and on behalf of IDPs in the governorate of Aden to Generations Without Qat Organization, its distinguished team and the project donner for the positive impression we have among the IDPs for their amazing work in the field that aimed at reducing WASH gaps the IDPs sites. We are looking forward to a new partnership with you in the near future." he added.
