The local authority in Taiz today launched a project for the maintenance and rehabilitation of major streets in the Salah district. The project will be implemented by the Institutional and Economic Resilience Enhancement Project in Yemen (#SIERY23), funded by the #European_Union and executed by the United Nations Development Programme (#UNDP) through the organization "#Generations_Without_Qat."
The project includes the maintenance and rehabilitation of two main streets in the eastern part of Taiz, both considered highly vital roads. The first street extends from Asaj Roundabout to Al-Sha’ab Roundabout, passing through Al-Hawd Roundabout. The second street extends from the Fourth Point Roundabout to Al-Ardi Street Roundabout, passing by Al-Kadam Bakery.
This project is part of the local authority's priority plans, funded by the Local Resilience and Recovery Fund within the Institutional and Economic Resilience Enhancement Project in Yemen. It aims to improve infrastructure in the Salah district.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for citizens in Taiz. These projects were prepared as part of the 2023 annual plans by local authorities in the Salah, Al-Mudhaffar, and Al-Qahira districts.
The project reflects the shared commitment between the involved parties to achieve sustainable development in Yemen. The local authority plays a pivotal role in identifying community needs and implementing projects in line with citizens' aspirations.
