Funded by the #European_Union for the project to enhance institutional and economic resilience in Yemen, the #United_Nations_Development_Programme, through the Generations Without Qat organization, organized a training course entitled "Qualifying Contractors and Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety in Workplaces"
in Aden, Lahj, and Taiz governorates.
This course comes at the beginning of implementing a new set of priorities for local authorities' plans in Taiz, Aden, and Lahj governorates with the support of the project to enhance institutional and economic resilience in Yemen #SIERY, which aims to support the capacities of local institutions and achieve sustainable development.
The course included training contractors on the principles and rules of occupational safety, and raising their awareness of the importance of adhering to safety measures in work sites to protect workers from potential accidents.
It also addressed ways to deal with the various risks that may face workers in construction and service projects.
This workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and taking the necessary measures to ensure a safe working environment, which enhances work efficiency and reduces accidents and injuries, which positively reflects on the progress of projects and the achievement of their goals.
