The local authority is implementing the project of "maintenance and replacement of the sewage network in (Aqaba Jamal Street to Al-Ikhwa and Al-Hindi neighborhood) in Al-Qaherah District in Taiz Governorate.
The project includes replacing old dilapidated concrete pipes with a length of 1150 meters, in addition to replacing 108 manholes and inspection chambers along the line.
This project aims to maintain the dilapidated network to reduce recurring blockages and eliminate sewage overflow in the targeted areas, which contributes to improving the health and service environment for the residents.
This project is part of the development priorities of the local authorities within their plans for 2023. It is supported by the project to enhance institutional and economic resilience in Yemen (SIERY), implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP Yemen) through the Generations Without Qat (GWQ) organization, where the project is funded by the European Union Mission in Yemen.
