Generations Without Qat has successfully concluded its participation in COP16, held in Riyadh from December 2 to 13, 2024. This event marked a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to combat desertification and promote sustainable land management practices.
Throughout the conference, our team engaged in numerous discussions, workshops, and panels, sharing our insights and experiences in addressing the challenges posed by land degradation and drought. This participation was a golden opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with international and regional entities, and to highlight the efforts made to combat desertification and land degradation.
We are thrilled to announce that we were selected to be part of the UNCCD Youth Caucus. This opportunity allowed us to collaborate with international experts, policymakers, and fellow activists, exchanging knowledge and best practices. Our presentations and discussions emphasized the critical role of local communities in driving sustainable change and the importance of integrating traditional knowledge with modern techniques. Our participation at COP16 has not only strengthened our network with global partners but also reinforced our commitment to creating a greener, more resilient world. We are inspired by the collective dedication of all participants and look forward to continuing our work in collaboration with like-minded organizations and individuals.
