Generations Without Qat for Development and Awareness(GWQ) concludes training courses on "Governance, Community Accountability, Leadership and Communication" in Taiz governorate.

Today, Thursday, February 11, 2021, Generations_Without Qat_ Organization for Awareness and Development concluded conducting 3 training courses in Al-Qahirah and Al-Mudhaffar districts in Taiz governorate for CSOs, Women groups, and youth initiatives on “governance, community accountability, leadership and communication”, as part of the project “Greater influence of Yemeni women and youth in peacebuilding, governance, and public decision-making at local and national levels''.

The training course lasted for four days with the participation of (45) participants. The training courses were conducted in three parts, first part, governance and community accountability for CSOs and Women groups with the participation of 15 CSOs and Women groups, the second part, leadership and communication for Youth and Women Initiatives with the participation of 15 youth and women initiatives, and third part, the training course on governance and community accountability for youth and women initiatives, with the participation of 15 youth and women initiatives.

The project coordinator announced that "the participants in the courses received information, knowledge, and skills on the concept of governance, its factors, its importance, and community accountability and its tools, in addition to receiving information about communication concepts, its importance, elements, types, obstacles, and parts. The participants in the courses received skills of leadership, its concept and its importance, and the difference between leadership and management and the duties and arts of leadership, and patterns of leaders.

The project coordinator stated that "male and female participants carried out a set of practical activities related to community accountability, listening sessions, and learned how to use the community assessment cards as the most important tools for community accountability on current issues about gender and enhancing community participation of youth and women in decision-making and building community peace, and the importance of applying governance and accountability within their organizations and women groups and within youth and women initiatives in Taiz governorate.

Regarding the activities of the project, the project coordinator explained that "so far, 11 training courses have been implemented to build the capacities of civil CSOs, women groups, and youth and women initiatives, of which 180 participants have benefited from 15 CSOs and women groups and 15 youth and women initiatives in Al-Qahirah and Al-Mudhaffar districts in Taiz governorate
